Sheremetyevo - the largest Russian airport, located 28 km from the center of Moscow and 11 km from the Moscow Ring Road. Every year, more than 14 million air travelers use the airport's services. The airport has ICAO category III A, which allows aircraft to fly without height restrictions and with limited visibility on the runway (not less than 200 m).
The airport has two sectors: Sheremetyevo-1 (Sh-1), serving domestic flights and flights to CIS countries, and Sheremetyevo-2 (Sh-2), where only international flights are operated.
On March 12, 2007, a new modern Terminal C was opened. The terminal is located next to Sheremetyevo-1 and serves regular and charter international flights.
In 2009, Sheremetyevo-3 will welcome its first passengers, which will be connected by wings to Sheremetyevo-2 and the railway station.
