Ilyushin IL-96M

Aircraft Information Ilyushin IL-96M

Ilyushin IL-96M is a Russian wide-body passenger aircraft developed and produced by Ilyushin. It was created based on the previous model IL-86 and first flew in 1988.

The IL-96M has four PS-90A turbofan engines and can carry up to 300 passengers for distances up to 10,000 km. The aircraft has a length of 55.3 meters, a wingspan of 60.1 meters, and a height of 17.6 meters.

The IL-96M was created to replace the outdated IL-62 model and was used for long-haul flights, including regular flights from Moscow to the United States and Canada. However, due to high operating costs and low efficiency, production of the IL-96M was discontinued in 2019.

Currently, the IL-96M is mainly used for transporting high-ranking officials and heads of state on official visits. There is also a version called the IL-96-400M, which is designed for cargo transportation.

The most comfortable and safe places on the plane

Like in any other aircraft, the safest seats in the Ilyushin IL-96M are located in the rear of the cabin, as they are closer to the exits in case of an emergency situation. It is also recommended to choose seats near the aisle to quickly exit the aircraft if necessary.

As for comfort, each passenger has their own preferences. Some prefer window seats to enjoy the views outside, while others prefer aisle seats for more legroom and quicker exit from the aircraft. It is also worth considering that some seats may be noisier or colder, so it is advisable to study the cabin layout and choose a seat that best suits your needs.
