Airport Amilcar Cabral International

The Amilcar Cabral International Airport (IATA code: SID, ICAO code: GVAC) is located on the island of Sal in the Cape Verde archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean. It is the largest airport in the country and serves over 1 million passengers per year.

The airport was opened in 1948 and named after Amilcar Cabral, a national hero of Cape Verde. In 2005, a major reconstruction of the airport was carried out, resulting in the construction of new terminals and the expansion of the runway.

Amilcar Cabral International Airport has one terminal that serves both international and domestic flights. The terminal features shops, cafes, restaurants, as well as ATMs and currency exchange points.
