Rules for carrying hand luggage and baggage on El Al Airlines
Hand Luggage
The number of hand luggage items, their weight, and dimensions are determined solely by the chosen class of flight and vary from 8 to 24 kg. Therefore, if you are traveling in economy class, you can only bring one piece of luggage weighing 8 kg on board. Traveling in first class allows you to bring two bags on board, with a combined weight not exceeding 24 kg.
Checked Baggage
Depending on the class of flight chosen, specific requirements for baggage allowance apply.
- If you are flying in economy class, you can check one piece of baggage weighing up to 23 kg.
- Traveling in "Premium Economy" class allows you to check two pieces of baggage, as specified for economy class.
- Passengers in business class are entitled to two pieces of baggage, each weighing up to 32 kg.
- In first class, you can carry three such pieces of baggage.
Excess Baggage
If you need to carry more baggage than allowed by your fare, you will have to pay $85 for the first additional piece when paying more than 3 hours before departure, or $100 when paying less than 3 hours before departure. Please note that the same rates apply for baggage exceeding 23 to 32 kg in weight.
For each subsequent piece, you will be charged $185 when paying more than 3 hours before departure, or $200 otherwise. The same rates apply for exceeding the dimensions of the baggage (158 cm - 277 cm).
