Rules for carrying baggage and hand luggage
Hand luggage
When flying on the "Economy" and "Premium Economy" tariffs, passengers are allowed to carry one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 8 kg on board. Business class passengers are allowed to carry two pieces of hand luggage, each weighing up to 8 kg. In all cases, the dimensions of each piece of luggage in the aircraft cabin must not exceed 55*40*23.
Checked baggage
Passengers traveling on the Economy Light tariff are not allowed to check baggage; they can only bring hand luggage on board.
For other economy class tariffs, the following restrictions apply: one piece of baggage per passenger. The weight of such baggage must not exceed 23 kg. Business class passengers can check in 2 pieces of baggage, each weighing no more than 32 kg.
In all cases, the sum of the three dimensions of the baggage must not exceed 158 cm.
Excess baggage
Cost of additional baggage
If you are traveling on domestic Austrian flights on the Economy Light tariff, the cost of baggage weighing up to 23 kg will be 15 euros when paid on the website, twice as much when paid during check-in at the airport, and a whopping 50 euros if you pay for it directly at boarding.
For flights on European routes, the prices will be 25, 40, and 55 euros respectively.
For other tariffs, the cost of additional baggage will be calculated according to the following scheme:
- Baggage weighing up to 23 kg and with a sum of three dimensions of 158 cm will cost 80 euros;
- If the sum of the three dimensions of such baggage exceeds 158 cm, its cost will be 130 euros;
- For baggage weighing between 23 and 32 kg and with a sum of three dimensions exceeding 158 cm, you will have to pay 180 euros.
Excess weight and dimensions+
If the baggage exceeds 23 kg or its size exceeds 158 cm in the sum of three sides, you will have to pay 50 euros.
The cost of baggage exceeding 158 cm and weighing more than 23 kg will be 100 euros.
These prices are valid for flights on European airlines. If you are flying on an intercontinental flight, the cost of excess baggage is determined based on special tables.
Traveling with a child
Up to 2 years old
Passengers with children of this age are allowed to bring a portable bassinet, a fully collapsible stroller, or a child car seat on board free of charge. The weight of these items must not exceed 10 kg. The only exception is if you decide to bring a car seat on board, you will need to purchase an additional ticket at the child fare. In other cases, a fee of 10% of the adult fare will be charged for issuing a travel document for the child. This price may vary slightly depending on where you purchase the ticket, the time of year you do so, and the fare you choose.
Infant food is available on all flights for infants up to 2 years old.
